Veterinarians from the Perth Zoo in Australia

Veterinarians from the Perth Zoo in Australia have managed to remake wings to a severely burned cockatoos.

The bird, which is part of an endangered species, was taken to the zoo's veterinary clinic last month.

The doctors let him regain strength before operating it to create new wings.

To do this, veterinarians used a syringe to stick the feathers of the "donor" and a match to place them properly.

"Unfortunately, the poor boy was burned when the bird near him exploded on power lines. So it was necessary to replace its plumage, "said the veterinarian, Peter Ricci, to the daily newspaper The Guardian.

"He's doing pretty well. He's a young bird so he feeds well and makes a lot of progress".

According to veterinarians at the Perth Zoo, the procedure for repairing the wings of this cockatoo is quite common for domestic birds and easy to make.

Dr. Ricci is rather confident about the chances of this bird being able to revolt soon.

Once his convalescence is over, he will be sent to a reserve to be released.
